The programme is suitable for children 6 yrs to 18 yrs and will be held on Sunday morning from 9.00am until 10.00am and has been designed to introduce the game of golf to prospective and budding young golfers. Golf clubs are not necessary as the Club has a selection of clubs available for use. Gold coin donation would be appreciated.

The programme has a two tier coaching structure with the programme being run by the Club Professionals and Volunteer club members.
Level 1 - is for new entrants joining the club, mainly primary school children 6 to 14 years of age
Level 2 - is for Juniors progressing from level 1, Secondary School students and juniors with an official club handicap

|Any playing restrictions||- Members over 12 years have full playing rights|
|- Members under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult family members,|
|a full playing member, coach or a junior member on a handicap below 25|
|Can a junior play in Club competitions||- yes, provided they have an official NZ Golf handicap|
|- both Men's and Women's competitions are run on a Saturday|
|How to gain a handicap||- by completing 10 9 hole rounds or 5 18 hole rounds and submitting these cards|
|- cards should be submitted each time either 9 or 18 holes are played|
|Who assists with the coaching||- Club Professionals, members, parent or grandparents|

As part of the Junior Programme, competitions will be held periodically on a Sunday specially for the programme participants. A small entry fee may apply to cover the cost of prizes. All entry fees collected go back into the programme.
Juniors who have official handicap are also welcome to join in the weekly Club Competitions run by the Men's and Women's sections.
Alan Forward memorial Trophy - is played for by members under 18 who have official NZ Golf handicap with the competition being match play on handicap.
Junior Inter-Club Competition - this is a Canterbury wide competition which runs from January to April each year.
